New Attendance Policy

The State Department of Education is implementing a new attendance policy that all schools in South Carolina will be required to follow this year.

The South Carolina Department of Education is now requiring that all South Carolina school districts report that a student is considered “absent” if they miss more than 50 percent (%) or one half (1/2) of a school day. Attendance will need to be taken during every class period in middle and high schools.

A letter will be sent home with DMS parents on Meet the Teacher day. You can view it here.
